It occurred to me that whenever I am writing to you, I find myself in the middle of working in several seasons. Because of this, I am often at a loss as to what to talk about first. It is amazing to me that we are in the middle of the Fall 2008 selling season, just launched Spring 2009, and now, I am already working on Fall 2009! I think of the seasons much in the way that we handle daylight savings time. In the fall, we "fall back," become more laid back.
Think comfort, cozy, quieter times, indoor activities.

For spring, we "spring forward." Think release, exhilaration, a new awakening, longer days, more action. Our clothes reflect that mood. The Fall collection has details of high necks, button closure.

Spring is all about easy wraps, looser shapes, lighter looking fabrics.

And Fall 2009?

I just read in Womens Wear Daily (WWD) that women are focused on "versatility, comfort and quality." This should come as no surprise. In an environment where more and more consumers are realizing less is more, Two Dog Island makes perfect sense. Each season, our design has this in mind. The key IS versatility-an offering of a small collection of unique styles that can be layered or worn as items, dressed up with a scarf or allowed to be casual.

Regarding comfort, WWD stated that 76% of survey respondents would rather forgo fashion to have comfort. Guess what?
At Two Dog Island you can have both. Cotton based apparel ranks high for its comfort. Our clothes feel good against the skin.
Plus, I know I am designing for real people with real bodies.

The final consideration is quality. And here, our customers have said it best. Thank you for all your comments complimenting us on the quality of your purchases. Our factory personnel and production team work hard to ensure that the product you wear is up to your high standards. Two Dog Island and On the Loose casualwear are made in Hong Kong and China. I have known my factory contacts for over 30 years. Their workers are skilled, treated fairly and work in safe factories with reputable business practices and quality control. In an ever changing world, some constants are re-assuring.

As the label says, "Relax. These are clothes you can live in...."
